An August, 1897, article from the "Electrical Worker" from LU 35 described the leasing of a meeting hall and office at 49 Bennett Street, right over the offices of the Boston Building Trades Council.
At the first meeting in their new quarters, the following officers were elected:

- Vice President Dan B. Smith
- Recording Secretary Dan McGillvary
- Financial Secretary R. H. Bradford
- Press Secretary Patrick S. Ryan
- Treasurer D. F. Flynn
- Inspector William Hubbort
- Foreman Maurice Sheehan
- Trustees John J. Larkin, Abraham Sprague and John Costello
A new Agreement was ratified in September, 1897.
LAW - X
Section I - Eight hours shall constitute a day's work. Time and a half for all overtime.
Section II - A first-class man shall be capable of doing all kinds of work pertaining to electrical construction in his class in a workmanlike manner from start to finish. His wages shall not be less than $3 per day, except when selected to take charge of work as foreman with three or more men under him, when he shall receive not less than $3.50 per day.
Section III - A second-class man must be able to do work when so directed in a workmanlike manner. His wages shall be not less than $2.50 per day.
LAW - XI
Section I - A person starting to learn the business, if of good character, shal be admitted to the union as an apprentice, providing he has attained the age of eighteen years.
Section II - The initiation fee for an apprentice shall be $2.50.
Section III - Apprentices shall not be allowed to finish work in any branch of the trade under two years sevice.
Section IV - When an apprentice has completed his third year, he shall be examined by the examining board hereafter provided for, and if ound competent, shall be promoted to the rank of journeyman and shall not work again for less than the journeyman wages.
Section V - An examining board, consisting of three members, appointed by the President, shall have full power to decide on the competency of the applicant.
Section VI - Each applicant for examination shall pay one dollar ($1) on making his application, and if successful in his examination, shall pay balance of journeyman's regular initiation fee.
Section VII - The rate of wages shall be hereafter provided for by the Union.
Section VIII - Any questions arising regarding apprentices, which these articles do not embrace, shall be decided by a committee of three, appointed by the President.
Section IX - Only one apprentice shall be allowed to one journeyman.
