Many tributes were paid to Secretary Collins by members of his local union in later years. None greater than that of Scribe George Capelle who thanked Collins profusely for personal contributions to Local 103 during the bitter strike of 1921, "If every member of Local 103 were as generous as Peter Collins, we could carry on the fight for equality in the workplace indefinitely."
The 1912 court decision threw out the referendums of the 1908 convention and its officers and restores McNulty-Collins the funds which were held in escrow during the four years of court injunctions.
It should be noted that John McLaughlin served on the executive board by election of the 1908 convention. McLaughlin began his career with Local 35 and was appointed delegate to the Boston Building Trades in 1899, was a member of the charter signers, and Recording Secretary of Local 103.
