"Staying Together in Brotherhood"
The Retirees Club meets on the third Thursday of each month, excluding January and February. The luncheons start at 11:30 a.m. We attempt to make the meetings informational and entertaining, including a complete sit-down meal (at a minimum of cost with help from the local union). We attempt to engage guest speakers to update you on elderly issues. The Union officers keep us abreast of Union benefits and affairs.
Membership dues are only $12 per year. The dues are needed to meet expenses of the club only. Dues may be paid by check to Treasurer Joe Murphy, c/o Local 103 Retirees Club, 256 Freeport St. Dorchester, Mass. 02122.
There are more than 1500 retired members of IBEW Local 103. Only about 200 retirees regularly attend the monthly luncheons, bus tours around New England, and activities such as our golf club. The events we sponsor are for LU.103 members and their spouses primarily, because they are co-sponsored by the local union, however we do encourage traveling brothers and sister locals to participate to fill an event such as a cruise or casino visit.
We are constantly seeking your ideas and input on ways to improve that fraternity, and now sorority, we enjoyed while actively employed together. We hope YOU will contact us and participate in the Fraternity of "Good Old Local 103".
